It worked. I found I had high blood-pressure quite by accident when I went to get new glasses and technician checked me. 154/81. I made the guy check me 2 more times, sure enough, it was high. Two months of herbs and exercise, checking my BP with a home machine, it was coming in between 174/84 and 150/81 every time, except very first thing in the morning. I bought this book, went to the grocery and checked every label for sodium. It was sad. Say good-bye to cheese and most bread. I tracked nutrients on MyFitnessPal.com, which I use with my Fitbit anyway, and once you get a menu in there, you can just replicate it day to day. Good news. 5 days on the diet I'm at 127/79 - 124/81. Consistently, different times of day. Exercising at least 1/2 hour a day. Sodium was tough, and I'm not ready to go out to dinner yet, but here's the thing, 5 days I'm in the normal range. You are going to eat a LOT of greens. Spinach and arugula for me, and a LOT of bananas, to get your potassium up to 4700mg a day. I've only made it one day, and that's with smoothies and stuff -- but it has worked. It's going to be tough to stay on this diet. Some tips. There is a low sodium ricotta cheese available you can sort of press into service. And balsamic vinaigrette and balsamic vinegar reduction are about the only salad dressings that have no sodium. Commercial dressings ridiculously high in sodium. The ranch dressing I like is over 650mg per serving, so that's over a 3rd of your daily allowance for 2 tablespoons of dressing. Not acceptable. Mrs. Dash helps give your food some flavor, too. In short, this plan works, and works fast. Now I need to see if I can stick with it.

I have high blood pressure. I do not fit the profile; rather slim, active, and eat well. In a nut shell, reduce sodium intake, increase potassium, magnesium, and calcium uptake. Reducing sodium pretty easy. The other three present problems when one begins to count %’s of daily ingestion. Potassium ingestion is the easiest, calcium next, and then magnesium. My point of contention is wherever the fruits, vegetables, cocoa etc are grown, do the soils contain these valuable minerals? If soils are depleted, the platform of this book is defunct. The positives of this book include reducing sodium ingestion, eating more wisely, and increase activity, which are all common sense, but sometimes we all require that kick in the head. To assure that I am receiving enough magnesium in my diet, I have reverted to using magnesium chloride, the element of the three essentials required that seems to be the toughest to find.I must also add, that for some of us, the issue of hypertension is more than just diet and exercise. Genetics enters the picture. One can try life style changes, stress reduction (difficult to do if work or family issues hang over one’s head like the Sword of Damocles) and some form of medication will be necessary. However, If one has elevate blood pressure this book is probably as good a place as any to begin to address the situation.

Lost 25 lbs following this book. Always stayed full. Reduced my BP from 145/90 to 111/78.

Followed most of the suggestions in the book for a month and a half. I have stage II diabetes, high BP and over weight. I had to pass a D.O.T. Physical. I lost 13 lbs, my BP went from average of 155 to 136. My daily blood sugars went from 160's down to 125 - 130.

Like many people who seek out this book, I was looking for a book that clearly explains the why's behind high blood pressure (and alternative methods to lower it) in a way I could understand. The information in this book is clear, concise, and gets right to the point. I also enjoyed learning some new recipes that I know are heart healthy and are appetizing to me and my family. I highly recommend this book, and it is worth the price to buy it.

I wish my Doctor had taken the time to explain WHY instead of handing me a prescription for high blood pressure and saying Cut the Salt, see ya next time. This book Does that and is easily understood.I whipped out my highlighter markers while skimming and got more out of it than I'd ever gotten from my doctor.BTW~ Janet Brill is NOT a doctor ;)

I'm 70 and was beginning to have high blood pressure issues. When my doctor increased my meds a second time, I decided to take things seriously. With a heart attack, I would either die, or not. But a stroke would be a whole different story I wanted to avoid. It was my good fortune I selected Blood Pressure Down from Amazon. The book is a quick read and gives very simple explanations for what is needed to drop your BP. I am amazed at how easy it was to do the program and how quickly I got results. In just two weeks I got my BP to slightly below normal and even lost a few pounds. In a follow-up visit my doctor reduced my meds and when I report the latest data, she will probably reduce my meds even further. Written by a nutritionist, Blood Pressure Down gives common sense details I needed to know and it turns out I actually like what I'm supposed to eat. I don't feel as if I made major changes as much as fine tuning my diet, but the results are remarkable. I won't start preaching about this book, but just to say it provides basic information that's worth knowing. Even if you don't have high BP, read it and find out what you've been eating.

It's okay. There is a lot of unnecessary information. The book could have been more direct and straight to the reason for buying the book. I want to know HOW To..not all the other reason I should. I know why I should.

Review

Kaufman traces the genealogy of Kallen’s thought and presents a nuanced and fluid understanding of his contributions. This careful and detailed study of Kallen’s complete oeuvre provides a relevant lensfor thinking about issues related to American pluralism and Jewish identity today. (Noam Pianko University of Washington)This book is without comparison the best biographic text on Kallen I have read. The author brings rich material from Kallen’s archive to the fore, and in the process, shows us important aspects of the struggle to define Jewish identity in America. (Jakob Egholm Feldt Roskilde University, Denmark)Finally we have a detailed study of the life and thought of Horace Kallen. Matthew J. Kaufman’s Horace Kallen Confronts America is distinguished by extensive use of archives rarely cited, and by a captivating and convincing account of Kallen’s fixation on the book of Job, to which this American Jewish philosopher turned at every stage of his life for personal renewal. (David A. Hollinger University of California, Berkeley)Matthew Kaufman has given us a revelatory, detailed account of a sorely neglected figure in the history of American Jewish life. Review

"...an impressive tour de force, Cybersecurity and Cyberwar gives us actual case studies, insider interviews, bizarre trivia, and a lot of dramatic statistics to help demystify the danger, and there is real danger. The timely book brings thoughtful, witty, and balanced analysis to this very important emerging discussion...it's a book I wish I had written." --Patrick Lin, The Atlantic "If you're completely ignorant about malware and cyberattacks, this is the book for you. And if you think you know a lot about these topics, this is still the book for you. It's thorough, exhaustive, and easy to read...extremely approachable." --Mashable "In confronting the cybersecurity problem, it's important for all of us to become knowledgeable and involved. This book makes that possible -- and also fascinating. It's everything you need to know about cybersecurity, wonderfully presented in a clear and smart way."--Walter Isaacson, author of Steve Jobs "If you read only one book about 'all this cyberstuff,' make it this one. Singer and Friedman know how to make even the most complicated material accessible and even entertaining, while at the same time making a powerful case for why all of us need to know more and think harder about the (cyber)world we know live in."--Anne-Marie Slaughter, President, the New America Foundation "Singer and Friedman blend a wonderfully easy to follow FAQ format with engaging prose, weaving explanations of the elements of cybersecurity with revealing anecdotes. From the fundamentals of Internet architecture to the topical intrigue of recent security leaks, this book provides an accessible and enjoyable analysis of the current cybersecurity landscape and what it could look like in the future."--Jonathan Zittrain, Professor of Law and Professor of Computer Science at Harvard University, and author of The Future of the Internet-And How to Stop It "Singer and Friedman do a highly credible job of documenting the present and likely future risky state of cyber-affairs. This is a clarion call."--Vint Cerf, "Father of the Internet," Presidential Medal of Freedom winner "I loved this book. Wow. Until I read this astonishing and important book, I didn't know how much I didn't know about the hidden world of cybersecurity and cyberwar. Singer and Friedman make comprehensible an impossibly complex subject, and expose the frightening truth of just how vulnerable we are. Understanding these often-invisible threats to our personal and national security is a necessary first step toward defending ourselves against them. This is an essential read."--Howard Gordon, Executive Producer of 24 and co-creator of Homeland "In our digital age, the issues of cybersecurity are no longer just for the technology crowd; they matter to us all. Whether you work in business or politics, the military or the media-or are simply an ordinary citizen-this is an essential read."--Eric Schmidt, Executive Chairman, Google"This is the most approachable and readable book ever written on the cyber world. The authors have distilled the key facts and policy, provided sensible recommendations, and opened the debate generally to any informed citizen: a singular achievement. A must read for practitioners and scholars alike."--Admiral James Stavridis, U.S. Navy (Ret), former Supreme Allied Commander at NATO"This book may interest and be appreciated by anyone seeking a better understanding of cyber threats" -CHOICE

#28,656 in Books (See Top 100 in Books)

In my opinion, this book was primarily written for the C level decision maker who does not fully understand or appreciate the importance of Information Security. That having been said, I have been an Information Security professional for 17 years and I still managed to learn a lot from the book. The book begins with a brief explanation about the history of the internet which I really enjoyed. The authors highlights that the most difficult aspect of forensic analysis is attribution. Trying to determine who is responsible for the attack is difficult and sometimes impossible to ascertain. The author of the Conficker worm, for example, which created the largest bot net to this day, is still unknown. The most fascinating part of the book covered Stuxnet. The authors go into wonderful detail explaining how and why the Stuxnet virus was a masterful cyberweapon. I especially like the authors’ position that the government needs to establish a “Cyber CDC”. “Take everything that the CDC does and slap Cyber in front of it”. The authors stress the importance of conducting practice cyber attacks led by a red team; this is a message for senior management.

Dr. Singer's books are always engaging, and this book, co-authored Allan Friedman, continues that tradition. This book is written to be consumed by any thoughtful reader -- it is not a deep dive in UNIX system administration challenges, it not full of computer acronyms, it does not require an advanced degree in computer science. This book clearly educates the reader about cybersecurity issues, and then expands upon this discussion to enable the reader to conceptualize the challenges of the subject. A good example of this is their Short History of the Internet, which is a clear and concise and enjoyable read by itself. This history includes, in layman's terms, evolution, funding agencies, control entities, architecture, Al Gore, governance, cryptographic keys, and more. With this foundation the authors then expand into many cybersecurity challenges, like WikiLeaks and a variety of security threats.I particularly liked the discussions on attribution, cybercrimes, and cyber terrorism -- these are not simple issues, and the authors articulate some of the complexities of attribution that make cybersecurity so difficult. The authors wrap up the book by defining the Five Key Trends that Affect the Future of Cybersecurity – Cloud Computing, Big Data, Mobile, Cyberspace Demographics, and Internet-of-Things (IoT). These trends all increase the problem space of cybersecurity, and the authors define how these trends will drive an even higher demand for security in our future systems. With this history, description of threats, frameworks, and trends, the authors truly accomplish their goal of delivering a primer of what one needs to know about cybersecurity and cyberwar.

If you've worked in IT for a couple of years, and if you have done your part to understand the world in which you are connected, then you might find this book to be written more for the managerial staff who decide on how they are going to invest in IT, and not so much for those who are in the trenches.

Not too long ago I read the book @War: The Rise of the Military-Internet Complex by Shane Harris, which was a great book and brought home to me the rising influence of private cybersecurity and cyberwarfare interests over the government's internet policies. Though I enjoyed that book a lot, I must admit that it was relatively biased in its coverage. In contrast, this book is a far more balanced look at the issues of cybersecurity and cyberwar. Co-written by P.W. Singer, who wrote Wired for War: The Robotics Revolution and Conflict in the 21st Century one of my favorite books, this book takes a question and answer approach to the topic. For example, a subsection will say something like "What is cybersecurity?" and the authors will spend the next few pages answering the question. In that way it is also a very accessible book for people as you don't need to read the whole book, but rather find the topic(s) you don't quite understand and read about it. This also helps make the book very balanced as it is more about giving readers an exhaustive look at all issues related to cybersecurity and cyberwar. Yet, this also means that it lacks a narrative drive to it. Though the authors try to make the subject more accessible through pop culture anecdotes and illustrations, it still can read like a reference book. Still, if you are interested in this topic, this is probably the fairest and most exhaustive book out there that is most accessible to the public.

This is the third book written from the perspective of Tancred, a Norman knight (Breton/Norman actually) j in the aftermath of the Norman invasion. The characters espouse the cause of Duke William, not Harold Godwinson, whom they refer to as a traitor for not honoring his pledge to support William upon the death of the English king. If you've been wallowing in books from the "English" perspective, this will rattle you a bit. Whereas we often think of Harold as a noble king defending his peoples from invasion, these characters approach the subjegation of the "rebels" in a totally different perspective. In short, Harold was entitled to be King and William was.Tancred seems to run into continual problems with controlling his mouth. He's arrogant, and while be keeps learning lessons, he doesn't seem to apply them. He is frequently forgiven due to his usefulness in battle, but he finally causes trouble (aka killing someone) which results in him being on the run to Ireland. He uses this "opportunity" to try to rescue Oswynn, a woman with whom he spent a scant six months and whom he presumed had died. I won't spoil it for you, but I'm cynical enough to question the depth of Tancred's feelings for her. There wasn't enough written about their relationship to give this pursuit credibility, although it is clear he blamed himself for her presumed death.I liked Tancred's loyalty, his adherence to his oaths, his care for the people entrusted to him. He seemed to have ethics in a world where there was little enough of that. He's fortunate to inspire loyalty among his companions, who seem to pull the fat from the fire when he gets himself into difficulty. And his creativity in breaching the walls of the most formidable entrenchments is fun to observe.Clearly, Tancred is not "done". He has more adventures ahead. I'm looking forward to reading Aitcheson's next book in this series.

I was looking for historical fiction about the Norman Conquest and discovered James Aitcheson's series featuring the fictional knight Tancred a Dinant. These book are exactly what I was looking for - lots of adventure, careful recreation of the historical period and minimal explicit sexual content. Tancred is an interesting hero - arrogant, guilt ridden, impetuous and an intelligent leader. Aitcheson is an excellent writer whose prose flows easily making for very enjoyable reading. Most of my ancestry is French, English, Irish and Scottish and dates back to the Conquest. I'm leaving this week with my family for a visit to the British Isles to discover our "roots" and reading these books is an enjoyable and useful means of learning the early history of the countries.

I enjoyed the story. Tancred is faced with loss many times in his life, but he does not faulter, he keeps continuing on the sword path, always with faith that he will find what he is looking for. The author does a great job making the journey feel real with his rich details that his history education and fertile imagination affords him, and I as the reader was thankful to come along for the ride.

The novel has merit, and while a bit laborious at points, was realistic, gritty and true to the era in which it was written.Quite immersive, and I enjoyed the voyage north as a change from the usual norman vs saxon action.

Read all 3, hope he continues with saga

OK but not as good as the previous books.....felt a little petulant, like we were supposed to feel sorry for the main character......weird.

Nice, clean book. Was the 3rd in a series, and my library did not have a copy. Arrived in good time. Pleased with the supplier

I read a lot of these types of novels. This one is well researched with credible action and reasonably well drawn characters. Interesting time period (post Hastings) for which there are not many novels. Recommended but not quite up to the level of Cornwell or Cameron.

This account of Reichl's early years is a compelling story of an unusual childhood. Her experiences include a stint in a Canadian boarding school where she learned French, to time in a commune in San Francisco. Always food is at the center of her life, whether preparing it or eating it with friends. I think having read her tribute to her mother colored my reading of this book. Her mother suffered from mental illness, and Reichl's understanding of her mother's state after her death, gave a light-hearted and amusing slant that she portrays differently in her later account. The book is interspersed with fascinating and delicious recipes for dishes that I will never cook but enjoy reading about.

I read Reichl's "Garlic and Sapphires" awhile back and picked up "Tender at the Bone" soon after, but I kept putting off reading it even though the first book was so good. It turned out "Tender at the Bone" is even BETTER. It's a memoir of her early life and is filled with fascinating and cringe-worthy anecdotes. At first it was surprising she chose to go into the food business having grown up in a house with a manic-depressive mother who thought nothing of adding leftover apple pie to a stew and who denied it was her menu of spoiled foods that brought food poisoning down on a major dinner party. I had to laugh when Reichl said her job was to police the table and whisper "don't eat that," to potential victims of her mother's bizarre and dangerous food foibles. The book was fascinating and left me wishing for more.

Arrived promptly, in good condition, great book. Spoilers ahead: if you started with Garlic and Sapphires, and are looking for the same sort of foodie/flavor discussion that was present in that book, it's not as present in this one. It's still there, Reichl is great at bringing to life flavors that you are vaguely aware of but don't really know how to process, but it felt to me that the book isn't as dedicated to food as Garlic and Sapphires. The recipes in the book are great and a lot of fun, some of them take a lot of work and a lot of prep. The only thing that disappointed me was the lessening of food discussion. It was great to read about the author's life and background, and her journey, though. Good book

Given how long ago this book was first published, and the fact that I just read it, I feel like someone who arrived late to a party ... but better late than never! Over the years, I've had the pleasure of seeing many of Ruth Reichl's foodie projects and have always had an appreciation for her public personna. This book gives an inside peek into Ruth's early family years and her first forays into the world of food. I've always liked Ms. Reichl's honest writing style, and I love the way she tells her story here. I also love the fact that she included a number of actual recipes (rather matter-of-factly for us foodies) for various menu items that were woven into the fabric of her tale. Thoroughly enjoyable read - highly recommended!

I loved this book, Ruth can write, it makes me want to read all her books, she has a great sense of humor. Her childhood was bizarre, her mother struggled with mental illness, her father was in denial, the cooks were delightful as were her relatives. A must read, I couldn’t put it down.

Just finished this delightful, insightful memoir and can relate to Ruth in many ways.Having had an 'irregular' mother myself, I was given comfort and reassurance by reading whatRuth had to say about her parents and the insights she gained over time. It took me 19 yrs. after mymother's death to come to terms with our very awkward relationship and learn to appreciate my heritage.

I am the author's contemporary, and I also grew up with a mother who didn't cook well, although mine was not bipolar. She simply bought into the post war push to make cooking "convenient" for women, and I suffered through many meals of Swanson's frozen dinners, fish sticks, frozen vegetables--in California!!--and jello salads. (The frozen things didn't require preparation.) I was permitted to cook, but only occasionally...I could season steaks, I could make cakes from a box, I had a child's cookbook that contained a decent recipe for meatloaf, and that was about it. I was enchanted with Julia Child's early TV programs, but managed to insult my mother by giving her "Mastering" as a Christmas gift (I took the book back, and I still have it.) I remember years later going to Kermit Lynch's store in Albany (we called him the Albanian Wine Merchant) and being impressed with his tastes. For these reasons I related to Reichl's book and enjoyed it very much. It is also just a well written autobiography, showing how a young person found the courage to follow her passion. I have just read her three books, in reverse order of their publication...I think each one is better than the one before.

Great read, Ruth Reichl is a master storyteller and talented writer. This book is more a collection of essays cherry-picked from various points in her life and less a continuous story of her life. Regardless, it is a fun read with the constant backdrop of her passion for food and cooking, as well as how those things impact her, her family, and everyone around her. It also provides interesting insights here and there about the culinary world and prominent "foodie" people she comes into contact with. If you like food memoirs, you don't want to miss this one!

This book condenses years of experience into one clear and concise guide, preventing every rehab newbie from making years of costly mistakes. For each component of 25 different types of work on a house, the author details the nature of the work and the statement of work line items that each type generates. Then he breaks out a discussion of "Cost Guidelines," "Determining Your Local Prices, " and "How To Pay for the Job." For an example of the intense level of detail given, in the "gutters/ soffit/ fascia" category, he breaks out $ estimates for cleaning gutters, replacing gutters, and replacing soffit or fascia, giving his reader costs per linear foot estimates for each type of gutter or soffit material- aluminum, steel, vinyl/ plastic, and copper/zinc, as appropriate. For cleaning gutters, he tells us the costs will depend on linear feet of gutters, the height and steepness of the roof, and whether downspouts need to be detached to be cleaned. If we know generally these three things, we should be able to get accurate, local head to head price bids. He goes on to warn NOT to use uninsured gutter cleaners because it can be a dangerous job, and that we are most likely to get the best pricing bundled with the roofing or siding contractors, if we are doing that kind of work on the house. He also comments that since this is a one day job (as opposed to one justifying a draw or a materials upfront payment) the contractor should be paid only once the job is completed. To a person experienced in housing construction, this all may be 'old hat,' but to a person new to home rehab, it is extremely valuable! This book pulls every aspect of repair cost estimation into manageable chunks so that none is overlooked or unaddressed in a detailed scope of work or budget. It addresses a very complex topic in the most thorough, detailed, and practical manner possible. Alerts to local costs (e.g., union labor in NY/NJ, building code variability by climate/weather circumstances) and seasonality are all over the place. This is a great book- highly recommended!

There are a lot of books about flipping, buying rentals, etc. This book addresses a key pain point for new investors and is masterful in doing so. When you start out down the path of investing, whether it be renting or flipping, you will almost immediately come to the "and then I put _blank_ into it to get it ready to rent/sell." and then you realize...how in the world do I know what ___blank___ is?!This book systematically breaks down all areas of a property and the types of repairs that one could encounter and then systematically goes through the range of cost for each type of repair, units of measurement for each repair (by square foot? by sheet? etc) and generally prepares you for dealing with contractors and getting estimates for anything you could think of.If you don't know about construction and contracting costs it can prepare you to ask intelligent questions when getting a quote, know what to expect, and empower you in unfamiliar territory. If you are familiar with various construction costs and related considerations, the systematic approach laid out by J Scott will help you "do your thing" in a repeatable and predictable way, which is the goal. This is a unique book in the field of real estate. If you want a book to read through by your fireplace to give you an overview of real estate investing, this isn't it. If you're moving beyond "theory" and taking your first steps into practice, this book is a must. If you're in practice and want to organize and systematize your rehab plans and cost better, this book is a must.I started with this book did any rehab, and have used it throughout a handful of rehabs now, and am amazed at how consistently accurate estimations from this book are. Once you figure out where your area fits in on the cost range for the ranges presented in the book (for instance our area work we've done tends to be in the lower 25% of the range j. scott presents), it becomes very easy to estimate a lot of unknowns. This is the book for when the rubber meets the road in your real estate investing journey.

A good book overall if you are new to rehabbing. Problem is there are many sloppy errors and typos which is a shame because you begin to question the credibility of the author. Even one or two typos are bad but when you start to see them every other page it gets annoying when you spend over $20 for a book. This is not a high school book report. It’s not difficult to fix these errors!

This is THE BOOK to have! Excellent reference for beginner investors/rehabbers/flippers/landlords/homeowners, great for more seasoned professionals. It is packed with tons of information on how different parts of the house work, life expectancy of mechanical systems and materials, and price ranges for specific jobs. The authors give you countless tips on how to research problems and issues, what the expected price range might be and even how to find the right contractors for the job. Not sure if there's anything like this book currently on the market. Well written and easy to read.I keep going back to pull information from this book all the time. Highly recommend to read this along with it’s companion book "The Book on Flipping Houses: How to Buy, Rehab, and Resell Reside".

My expectations were set too high as the book ended up having a lot of caveats. Everything is really location based so the estimates don't really mean much when the ranges are significant. Still a good read to understand things that you might not think of that needs attention.

I was told in Israel in '95 the Lubavitcher stepped on so many toes that he was either the real thing or a total fraud. Here's my review of Rabbi Hecht's book, Confessions of a Jewish Cultbuster:And my review of the Rebbe. Also see my reviews of Rabbi Uri Kaploun's books a noted child abuser that the Rebbe protected while destroying someone who tried to expose KaplounThis is a work of trash and fiction and lies. I am "Hank" of "Hank and the Hebrew Christians." Hecht attacked me the very first time I met with him and he knew I was naive about the fact that the body is not symmetrical and the left and right hands are not equal. this is called the principle of dextro-sinestra the right left principle. sinestra means evil. Hecht told me Chabad is garbage. It is.The first meeting I had with Hecht and my father, Hecht and my father were standing in the corner of a room rubbing their hands together. Hecht looked like the Angel of Death and my father was not any better. I got into Christianity to find a way to solve my problmes but it all backfired and made things worse. All of Shea's talk, especially in the book of love and bringing back into Judaism from an angle of is slanted to make Shea look my loving savior and helper which he never was. Neither was my father so loving. Follow this link on Culteducation.com http://forum.culteducation.com/read.php?7,55795What did they discuss about me and was Shlomo tightened up for any money and what did they discuss between all of them?: My father, my uncle, Dagmar, Hecht, my mom, my sister, Simon Greenstein, the JDL. Larry and Sue Mischell, Rabbi Goldberg the Rebbe egtc I'm sure it wasn't so innocent and money was attached to all of it. It was a matter of proving Chabad's theories and making money off of it. If their theory had panned out, I would have been one of their successes as I finished my MSM, got married and later on found a job at a major corporation, AT&T. My ex-wife, Julie Marilyn Nemon (Yocheved Miriam) ran out on me yelling, "We set you up to fall flat on your face.." What the blazed was going on and what did she know? Her mashpiah (mentor) Chaim Meir Lieberman told me, "It's just a good lie..."Also, I have information about Ted "Black Lightning" Patrick and Rick Ross who I used to write for although he took credit and copyrighted everything I wrote (An Overview of the Baalei Teshuva Movement and I could never be good enough for the movement and my 753 postings on the forum under my handle "richardmgreen." I never was paid a dime nor was I considered good enough to offer a job to. (http://culteducation.com and http://forum.culteducation.com who also did interventions, kidnappings and abductions etc. Some of their cases were failed and botched and Patrick was in jail for a while. I wonder who else is dead from all of this. All of this is very a very sordid business.Furthermore, I saw Hecht in Highland Park, NJ some years ago as he was there for a memorial for his father, JJ Hecht who was the official translator of the Lubavitcher Rebbe's sichos, talks on Sunday. Hecht told me, ".. you should MEET some people..." Hecht's portrayal in Confessions of bringing me back to Judaism with love is baloney. He knows it too.I was a cog in Scheerson's wheel. Here's what he's been up to:Also what does this have to do with Rabbi Schneerson's getting the Noahide Laws passed by the US gov't under George HW Bush and the pope especially since he said that Christians were to be asked to leave Christianity and that it is a "well known Jewish ruling that Christianity is avodah zarah or idol worship? The well known ruling is that it's basically OK for non-Jews to believe in the concept of God incarnate as that was a long held belief in the non-Jewish world since antiquity. Pharaoh was a sun god as was Nimrod, Nebuchadnezzar, Ceasar etc. For Jews the majority opinion is that it is Avodah Zarah but there's a minor opinion that it's shituf the belief that God's nature is compound and in the case of Christianity, that Christians only worship one God whose nature is vested in a Trinity. Also, the Lubavitcher Rebbe being a racist based on the Talmud's quote that all the kindness of the nations of the world is but sin (it's in Baba Bathra) and the Tanyas claim that the non-Jews come from the 3 impure Klippot etc.Torah True Judaism says that all the righteous of the nations of the world have a share in the world to come. Also, there's the famous story of how the Holy Roman soldier (he was Holy because he wanted to know the truth and he knew we didn't have it or tell the truth) asked Shammai to teach him the whole Torah while he was standing on one leg. Shammai blew him off. The Holy Roman soldier went to Hillel next as he did not give up and Hillel told him, "Love your neighbor as yourself, the rest is commentary go and learn it." Anyone even cursorily acquainted with Judaism knows this story except Rabbi Schneerson, Hecht and their cronies. Here's the Global Noahide Campaign and dialog about it:Chabad is targeting non-Jews too with their "Sheva Mitzvahs B'nei Noach" campaign. Theres a letter on that beishmoshiach site that was of a talk that Rabbi Schneershoh gave some years ago that Chabad was to missionize non-Jews too. Here's the letter:Author Topic: The Rebbe's Call for a Global Noahide CampaignMonotheism posted 03-18-2002 12:39 AM ET (US)--------------------------------------------------------------------------With G-d's HelpGlobal Campaign to Teach Noahide Code to All GentilesThe unique accomplishment of the "Global Shluchim (Lubavitchemissaries) Conference" - and hence also the need to have Divine assistance and participation, efforts and human involvement - can also be understood from its name:The title "Global Shluchim Conference" seems to refer simplyto a conference in which emissaries from all over the world takepart. But there is a deeper meaning:The word "global" means that it ought to be on a global scale. This means that the conference, and primarily, the mission work of its participants - must influence the entire world. In this connection there is a further matter of primaryimportance:In order to make a dwelling place for G-d in this world in theentire world, that it be truly "global" (as the Conference ofEmissaries is described), on a truly global scale, it is necessaryto influence the gentile nations, especially in light of the factthat they constitute the vast majority of mankind. For it is written that the Jewish people "are few among thenations" - so even if we reach and influence all Jews, wherever they may be, this is only a small amount (in quantity) of all of thenations in this physical world, which cannot be compared to thescale of the large world with the numerous people who inhabit it.Hence it appears that through the Jews alone there cannot beachieved a dwelling place for G-d "in the lower creations" [i.e. inthis world], all of the "lower creations," in a "global" manner, ona truly global scale.[(Since the Jew is G-d's emissary, and "the emissary is likethe sender," to the point that they are considered one and thesame, - therefore we certainly have been given the capability andassistance from G-d to transform the entire world. But G-d desired that it be a "dwelling place for the lower creations," (i.e. on their terms), that this be done in a natural manner and in a manner understood by the intellect of the "lower creations" (including that of non-Jews).]In addition to a Jew's mission in observance of Torah andMitzvos (Commandments), and his influence on other Jews to dolikewise, the Jews also have a Mitzvah to influence the gentilenations to observe the Seven Noahide Laws: "Moses commanded (the Jewish people what he had heard) from G?d Himself to compel all the inhabitants of the world to accept the Commandments in which the Children of Noah (i.e. all gentiles) were commanded."This can be explained as follows - the general theme of all ofthe Noahide laws is "He created it [the world] to be settled,"inhabiting and civilising the world, to make the world a placesuitable for human inhabitation. It then becomes worthy for the Jews to make from it a dwelling place for G-d. If there is any place in the world that is lacking in proper civilization, that place is notcompletely worthy to be made a dwelling place for G-d.Based on the above it is understood that in order to settlethe world, in all its parts, we need the gentiles specifically, whoare extremely numerous and require a great area of land in which to dwell (unlike the Jews, who, being "few in number" do not need so much land for settling). The Jews can assist, but the chief and ultimate effort in settling the world - in the most literal sense - depends on the actual, bodily efforts of the seventy nations. This is one of the reasons for that which the Jews werecommanded "to compel all the inhabitants of the world to accept the Commandments in which the Children of Noah were commanded." [It should be noted that the Noahide Code (through which "He created it [the world] to be settled" is achieved) must be observed (not "out of rational compulsion," but rather "because G-d commanded them [i.e. the Noahide Laws] in Torah and made it known to us throughMoses," meaning that the Noahide Code reaches gentiles via theJewish people.] For in order that the Jewish people achieve themission assigned to them of making of the world a dwellingplace for G-d in a complete manner - they must achieve that thegentile nations civilise the world, by observing the Noahide Code(including - via the law of charity ).Now it is understood why it is called a "Global EmissariesConference":When the emissaries assemble in a "Global EmissariesConference," it indicates an assembly and unification of emissaries from various places in the world - in fact from all four corners of the globe. Then each emissary represents the Jews and people in his place, also the gentile nations (with whom he works and whom he assists in their Divine service). This further underlines that their activity is to influence the entire world, to make the entire world a dwelling place for G-d.Talks of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Sefer HaSichos 5750, Vol. 1,pps.142-5.Options: Reply*QuoteCollege Cults Information...Posted by: Macabri ()Date: November 17, 2002 11:13PMThank you very much...When I went to the main page I only typed in college and it turned up no results...I'll be sure to check again...Thanks...Options: Reply*QuoteCollege Cults Information...Posted by: richardmgreen ()Date: November 18, 2002 08:14PMWhat Lubavitch is trying to do is pretty scary to me and I'm really wondering just what exactly they want. Is this a plot for wold domination. I hate to be "politically incorrect" but I think what they're up to may be "Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion" material. The Protocols was a document that started around 1890 claiming to be plan concocted by the leading rabbis of the time for world domination. The document is considered to be a forgery by most authorities but it's a main problem. It always pops up.Recently, an Arabic TV station aired a segment on the document and read it. The ADL jumped all over this one.First of all, the 7 commandments of the Sons of Noah is really 7 basic categories leading to 66 or so wider categories. I'd really like to know the particulars of all of this.Do they expect the whole world to accept the Jewish interperatation of God? Do they expect Israel to become the leader of the nations. And why is Lubavitch spreading their stuff around when the leaders in their movement who I know told me it's all BS?Options: Reply*QuoteCollege Cults Information...Posted by: richardmgreen ()Date: November 24, 2002 06:50PMRick, I got this off of [www.beismoshiach.org] in their message board it seems that Rabbi Schneerson did believe that he was the Messiah.THE PSAK DIN: THE REBBE IS MELECH HA'MOSHIACHAfter Shavuos 5751, rabbanei Chabad who had gathered at 770 from all over the world signed a detailed psak din which quoted the halacha in the Rambam regarding the signs indicating who is Moshiach, and established that "it is clear according to the Torah of truth that the halachic status of `b'chezkas she'hu Moshiach' applies to the Rebbe shlita, for all the conditions enumerated in the Rambam apply to the Rebbe shlita."Then on the 11th of Sivan 5751, a ksav minui (letter of appointment, given to a legal emissary) on behalf of the beis din of Crown Heights, the Vaad Rabbanei Chabad of Eretz Yisroel, and the general Vaad HaRabbanim, was given to Rabbi Dovid Nachshon and to R Avrohom Taub, appointing them to read the psak din that the Rebbe is b'chezkas Moshiach at the gravesites of the Chabad Rebbeim in Russia. This trip was kept secret and merited special and rare attention from the Rebbe. The following are answers to these two shluchim:Beis Iyar, near the mikva: "Yashar ko'ach yashar ko'ach."This was followed by: "All this was taken to the tziyun."On the 13th of Sivan, the Rebbe blessed the shluchim with a good trip in three languages. While in Russia, they asked whether they should tarry or travel immediately to Medzibuzh. The Rebbe said they should travel to Medzibuzh immediately. On 5 Av 5751, a minyan convened and went to the gravesite of the Arizal where they read the psak din about the hisgalus (revelation) of the Rebbe as Melech HaMoshiach. When they informed the Rebbe of this, he said: "May all this have its effect, etc., and the time is auspicious, etc. I will mention it at the tziyun."THE BOOK"YECHI HA'MELECH""The first book that fully explained the basis for the psak din of the rabbanim, that the Rebbe is b'chezkas Moshiach, was written by Rabbi Shalom Dovber Volpe in Yechi HaMelech. He submitted it to the Rebbe even before it was bound, and on the 19th of Cheshvan 5752, the Rebbe responded:"It was received, many thanks. It is enclosed with this [note] to be published and exchanged for a bound one -- and thank you in advance. May it be successful and for good tidings. I will mention it at the tziyun."The Rebbe took an interest in Rabbi Volpe's receiving approbations for his book from gedolei Yisroel. Shortly after the book was published, shaliach Rabbi Yoram Ulman of Australia asked the Rebbe whether "it was proper" to learn this book with outsiders, for since it states precisely who Moshiach is he wanted the Rebbe's blessing for success in this matter. The Rebbe gave him a positive answer. The Rebbe's head shaliach in Argentina, Rabbi Tzvi Greenblatt, received the Rebbe's approval for translating a certain chapter from Yechi HaMelech HaMoshiach (a later book by Rabbi Volpe wherein the halacha of b'chezkas Moshiach is explained and connected to the fact that the Rebbe is Moshiach) and for disseminating it throughout Argentina by way of an individual who was not a Lubavitcher.SIGNATURES AND GATHERINGS FOR KABBALAS HA'MALCHUSOF THE REBBEOn 4 Iyar 5752, when Rabbi Dovid Nachshon submitted a form with 250 signatures on it affirming the acceptance of the Rebbe as Melech HaMoshiach, the Rebbe responded:"It was received and thanks. May it be an ongoing activity and may it increase. Indeed, the time is auspicious... I will mention it at the tziyun."On the 8th of Iyar 5751, Rabbi Dovid Nachshon, along with other Chabad Chassidim, wrote to the Rebbe that at a gathering with over ten activists and mashpiim it was decided to continue with the signatures for kabbalas ha'malchus. More signatures were appended to the letter, and the Rebbe's response was: "I will mention it at the tziyun and may he relate good news."After Rabbi Nachshon informed the Rebbe about a farbrengen at Kfar Chabad in connection with the fact that the Rebbe is Melech HaMoshiach, the Rebbe responded in Sivan 5751:"May it be an ongoing activity and may it increase. Indeed, the time is auspicious. I will mention it at the tziyun."In Kislev 5752, the Rebbe responded as follows to a du'ch of signatures on kabbalas ha'malchus forms which Rabbi Nachshon had sent him, and about a lecture Rabbi Nachshon had given on the topic of "the Rebbe as Moshiach" at a special evening in which public figures were present:"May it be fulfilled in them [the saying] that he who has 200 wants 400, etc. I will mention it at the tziyun."A GATHERING FOR KABBALAS HA'MALCHUSThe women of Crown Heights organized a gathering for the purpose of kabbalas ha'malchus, including by means of signatures. The women wrote to the Rebbe that the gathering would be taking place because of the Rebbe's encouragement on Hoshana Rabba, to which the Rebbe said:"May it be with great success, and the time is auspicious as are the inyanim. I will mention it at the tziyun."Regarding the invitation which they sent the Rebbe for this gathering, the Rebbe responded:"I will bring the enclosed, G-d willing, to the tziyun. And the time is auspicious."Regarding the report which N'shei Chabad submitted after the gathering, in which they enumerated the topics which had been discussed -- among them, the need to arouse the midas ha'malchus of the king through accepting his malchus, the unique ability and obligation that Jewish women have in bringing the Geula, and the special importance of writing and signatures -- the Rebbe responded:"I will mention it at the tziyun again for continued great and wondrous success in everything, etc."N'SHEI CHABAD DISTRIBUTING FORMS FOR KABBALAS HA'MALCHUS AROUND THE WORLDOn 3 Kislev 5752, a group of women presented the Rebbe with a beautiful box containing forms with signatures. The representative of the group said, "Baruch Hashem there is amazing work being done in the campaign of `and they sought Hashem and Dovid their king' and they found him. And this is being spread through the N'shei Chabad, and throughout the world and to all the shluchos. We -- N'shei and Bnos Chabad -- accept Moshiach Tzidkeinu, the Rebbe shlita, and he will lead us upright to our holy land immediately."The Rebbe responded:"Amen."(The Rebbe then looked at the box and said:) "Is this for me? Besuros tovos."(The Rebbe looked at the box again and the signatures and added:) "For all these matters you must give tzedaka, and may it be with great success, and go from strength to strength until you go to Elokim in Tziyon with the true and complete Redemption. Blessing and success, great success."Regarding N'shei Chabad's decision to make a "seudas kabbalas panim l'Moshiach Tzidkeinu," on Motzaei Shabbos 28 Teives 5752, and the plan to publicize this throughout the world and in the newspapers, the Rebbe said among other things:"It was received and many thanks. May it be an ongoing activity and may it increase."When N'shei Chabad informed the Rebbe that they had prepared a pamphlet for the participants of the farbrengen, entitled Toras HaGeula, which contained sichos of the Rebbe, and that the seudos would take place in many locations around the world, the Rebbe responded:"This is included in the bracha for the earlier letter, to which this is a continuation. But may it progress from strength to strength. For there are additional meritorious days and meritorious activities. And `action is the main thing,' as per the psak din of our holy Torah and its explanation at length in Chassidus. I will mention it at the tziyun."In the middle of the meal, representatives of the women wrote to the Rebbe as follows:"Hod malchuso k'vod k'dushas Admur shlita Melech HaMoshiach, Jewish women in general and N'shei Chabad in particular, are ready to greet Moshiach Tzidkeinu and to hear divrei k'vod k'dushaso in a manner of `a new Torah will go forth from Me' at the meal arranged in his honor, and we pray that we merit the true and complete Redemption with heavenly clouds, etc., immediately mamash."The Rebbe responded, "All who bless are blessed with Hashem's blessing, whose increase is greater than the capital, particularly a special blessing at a special time. I will mention it at the tziyun."Options: Reply*QuoteCollege Cults Information...Posted by: richardmgreen ()Date: November 24, 2002 06:51PMTHE GATHERING FOR KABBALAS HA'MALCHUS IN 770 -- BROADCAST LIVE AROUND THE WORLDRight after the seuda, Rabbi Chaim Baruch Halberstam of W.L.C.C. gave a report to the Rebbe of the list of cities and countries worldwide which participated via hook-up in the seudas Melaveh Malka. The report began with: "K'vod k'dushas Admur shlita Melech HaMoshiach L'olam Va'ed! A report from the broadcast of the kabbalas panim for the Rebbe MH"M by the N'shei and Bnos Chabad." The Rebbe responded:"It was received and many thanks for the nachas ruach which was caused and continues to be caused. I will mention it at the tziyun."On the Sunday following the meal, the organizers of the event went to the Rebbe and said: Jewish women, members of "a stubborn nation," decided to go from strength to strength until they receive the actual Geula. The Rebbe said:"Good news and great success. May all the blessings be fulfilled soon. [Upon distributing to each an additional dollar, the Rebbe added:] This is for the gathering."THE REBBE'S DIRECTIVE TO THE N'SHEI CHABADOF LONDON:To N'shei Chabad of London who had written about their activities regarding Moshiach, the Rebbe told them to act in accordance with the N'shei Chabad of Crown Heights:"It was received along with that which was appended to it. Many thanks and may it be with great success. You are certainly in touch with N'shei Chabad here, to find out about their recent celebration here. I will mention it at the tziyun."To N'shei and Bnos Chabad of Paris, who had written that they were preparing to arrange a farbrengen, a Melaveh Malka for kabbalas pnei Moshiach Tzidkeinu on Motzaei Shabbos B'Shalach (based on the Rebbe's directive to them to organize this again), the Rebbe responded on Erev Shabbos Parshas B'Shalach:"May it be with great success and the time is auspicious. I will mention it at the tziyun.""YECHI TAMBOURINE"N'shei U'Bnos Chabad decided to hold a special evening of song for the Redemption, "with tambourines and dancing," on Motzaei Shabbos Tetzaveh. When they informed the Rebbe of this he said:"May it be with great success. I will mention it at the tziyun."At dollars the following Sunday, Mrs. Chavie Cohen gave the Rebbe a tambourine, on which was inscribed "Yechi Adoneinu Moreinu V'Rabeinu Melech HaMoshiach L'olam Vo'ed!" and she said, "this is for the Rebbe shlita. With this tambourine, the women danced last night, with joy that breaks all bounds, and absolute certainty in the immediate revelation of the Rebbe shlita, Melech HaMoshiach, for a complete redemption."The Rebbe responded with a smile: "This you will probably leave with me."The Rebbe gave her another dollar and said: "This is for the `tzitzelei s'ruah,' as it is called in Tehillim. May it be in a good time."Here's the Catholics acknowledging the Noahide Laws despite Schneerson's aspirations to destroy ChristianityTraditional Catholic ForumA place for SSPX and other Traditional Catholics to discuss matters pertaining to the Catholic FaithSince 2006New: RSS FeedClick here to start your Amazon.com session so CathInfo gets credit!Welcome! The Pope said:-- "Shalom! It is with joy that I come here just a few hours before the celebration of your Passover to assure you of my prayers as you recall the wonders God performed in liberating His *chosen people.*" -- HEREIn a Bilateral Commission Meeting between the Vatican delegation and the Chief Rabbi Shear Yashuv Cohen in Jerusalem in 2007 (Here) an agreement was made which recognized that "Jewish tradition emphasizes the Noachide Covenant as containing the universal moral code which is incumbent upon all humanity." (Cf Genesis 9).So then? Not only are Jews "absolved" by the Vatican of their guilt for crucifying the Messiah Jesus -- now Pope Benedict recognizes their leadership since they are the "Chosen People of God" and that the "Noahide Laws are Jewish tradition." Hence who will ultimately be the moral authority that governs the so-called Noahide Laws? Jews, that's who.It is paramount to note that on March 20 1990 President George Bush Sr signed into law a Congressional Resolution on the so-called Noahide Laws entitled House Joint Resolution 14 Public Law 102-4 Here & HereThis Congressional Act potentially gives the Jews the legal right to imprison and condemn to death Christians as "idol worshippers" according to the 1st Article of the Noahide Laws which considers the worship of Jesus Christ as "idolatry" for worshipping a "false god".The Jews call this article of the 7 Noahide Laws, Avodah Zarah, enunciating it as a commandment: "Do not worship false gods as idols" HERE.The bottom line is that this ultimately means the international imposition of the Noahide Laws by Jews. And these Noahide Laws, which potentially can condemn Christians to death, will be governed by the Zionists who are given ownership over these laws by both the Vatican and the US Government.Indeed, the ancient Jewish Sanhedrin that condemned the Lord Jesus Christ to death was recently reinstituted in Israel Here & Here. And the newly-instituted Sanhedrin wasted no time in arrogating to themselves governance over the Gentiles vis-à -vis the Noahide Laws.We must all do everything in our power to stop the Anti Christian Jews with their wicked Noahide Laws now before it's too late!Benedict XVI Affirmed Jewish Noahide Laws________________________________________Posted Jun 19, 2013, 2:32 pmIgnored by: 0SigismundLevel 5Reputation: 3048(Likers: 0 / Critics: 0)Posts: 5,7370 0________________________________________Um, his RECENT visit in 2008?
