I have been interested in the concept of the law of attraction for many years and each author seems to have their own take on it, including Esther Hicks and John Assaraf. Hicks emphasizes the need to focus on a better life story and feel good about it. John Assaraf talks of the brain's ability to sift through billions of data to find pathways to what you focus upon. Others, including the many people featured in "The Secret" note that it is important to feel as if you have already achieved what you want, and feel grateful for it even before it appears. Braden applies the science to the concept. He describes scientific findings of the ability of energy particles to be influenced by things not in proximity, and by thought, which is also a form of energy. He notes that ancient cultures already know about the power, and he looks at the actual texts of the writings that would later be included in the bible, noting parts that are eliminated through the various translations that describe the power of thought, which later became the power of prayer. I can feel his own sense of wonderment in what he uncovers, and enjoy his lectures on You-Tube. I cover him and other Law of Attraction writers on my site(...) and hope to review more of his works.
Old is gold. The wisdom of ancient yoga, Buddhism, and Taoism - and to some extent, Greek philosophy - is tapped into by this book by Gregg Braden. He shows how these Eastern belief systems are being confirmed by modern discoveries in quantum physics.He says that the discoveries of quantum physics are astonishing. However, because they do not seem to have important implications for our personal lives, these discoveries have not made great waves in the public imagination. Therefore, he seeks to find a bridge that might make these discoveries more meaningful.He feels that he has discovered such a bridge. (Of course many other authors such as Deepak Chopra have been doing this since the 80s and write about the same thing – a field of ‘endless possibilities’ in nature and how you can change your future). However, Braden is a little more technical in his explanations. He points to several ‘groundbreaking’ experiments. I looked up their references and found that none of the experiments have been published in mainstream journals. Apparently, mainstream science does not accept these claims. But there is nothing new in that.Braden calls the bridge he has discovered the ‘divine matrix.’ However, unlike the Eastern faiths he refers to, he describes the matrix as physical, material. It is the material energy of the physical universe. It seems odd that he should call it divine, since divinity usually implies the transcendent, nonmaterial, and spiritual.He believes that this physical energy of the universe can be touched and communicated with through human emotions. We can use our emotions to change not just ourselves, but simultaneously the whole universe with which we are interconnected in a divine net.We are not just observers in this universe, but participators. This is what quantum physics says about our world on the subatomic level - not the physical level of our everyday lives. However, Braden seeks to challenge this and says that our thoughts and dreams come true because of our connection with the divine matrix. As such, our whole lives as we see them are simply a result of our thoughts. Our lives are like a non-judgmental cinema screen. It reveals to us what we are projecting. Braden says we can change our lives by changing the thoughts we project.Of course, this is the golden wisdom of ancient yogis and other spiritual masters of various faiths. Braden has attempted to package and explain it in terms of quantum physics.Full disclosure: I’m a peer-reviewed researcher and author on this subject and also emerging new connections between ancient yoga, the Bible, and science.
An outstanding read! Clear, concise, and mind-opening! I'd read Divine Matrix several years ago then loaned my copy of the book to someone -- who never returned it. Well, no way is my library "complete" without it, so I re-purchased it recently, and as I read it again I found that it is even better than I had remembered it being! A must read for anyone who wants to understand how life works.
I have read a number of books recently from this general field of Noetics. There is definitely a wide range when it comes to authors that are publishing on this, and it can be difficult to find one that really gives you the feel that they are studying this in a practical way with a strict accountability to truth. Braden is the author that has most convinced me that there is some authenticity to be found in this field. He comes from a background as a scientist and so does not neglect the need to cite some good hard research studies. I can recommend this book to anyone who is searching for some reliable information to keep his feet on the ground in light of some other authors who get a little carried away in this field.
My first book from Gregg Braden. Made me order 3 more of his books. The topics and scientific backing makes them so engaging and interesting. His own personal accounts add a lovely touch and evening more real. His style of writing is so enjoyable and addictive to read. I couldnt out it down once started. Reference to back up the theory allows for further own research if you wish. I would recommend to anyone interested in self healing, the universe or reality.
I really enjoyed this book & the author's writing style! He writes as if he's speaking to a small classroom of students (in a friendly manner)! Even though I already knew a lot of the information I still enjoyed reading this so much that it was hard to put down. It's about synchronicity, consciousness, how important our own beliefs are and how everything & everyone is all connected.
Another one of Gregg Braden's mind awakening books! Gregg's a wonderful 21st century writer with new insight about exactly how to receive answer to prayers.The Divine Matrix is one of the best books I've read on the subject of answered prayer!
I absolutely love this book, which was my introduction into Gregg Braden. The "mirrors" explained in the book were mind opening and empowering. It's amazing how you can shift your world through that understanding and it's great to find someone who understands the various ways that life reflects us. It's a book that evolves with you. 5 stars!
