Definitely worth the buy! I can appreciate digital editions of rule books, but it's not the same. The book is quality work, first of all, so it's a stable purchase; as opposed to books that fall apart within the first month. Being able to search is not the same as being able to just flip to the pages directly, and to compare different pages against each other. Definitely worth getting, even if you also get a digital edition for portability and quick finds.

Seems FFG realized that there were a lot of things wrong with DH1. This 2nd Edition brings a lot of its mechanics and systems in-line with their other 40K RPGs, and limits some of the broken abilities of certain classes (especially Psykers) that were prevalent in 1st ed. The new character creation system allows for some really interesting and creative combinations of homeworlds, backgrounds and character concepts, can't wait to see what my play-group comes up with.

Good printing quality as always but I feel like the binding could be improved. We all know the core book is going to be the most tossed around and roughed up book in the series. Great art, I love the rules, now if I can just get my players to stop injecting each other with Obscura and Stimm.

The instructions were easy to understand and included lots of details about how to play the game. The book was well made.

The game has a overhauled yet similar feel to Dark Heresy 1ed. The class customization is nice and the artwork/ general lay out of the pages is awesome. My only complaints are the many small typos that FFG is notorious for and the character stat blocks are a little hard to read at a glance.

Seller shipped on time and in sufficient packaging.FFG (publisher) has had some manufacturing issues in the past regarding how they bind these 40kRP books (Black Crusade being the biggest offender). After mild and careful (I've dealt with this before) use, some of the binding is failing. When it happened with Black Crusade, FFG quickly shipped me a replacement and let me keep the old one, so despite possible issues for some, still not worth losing a star IMO.As for the book, design wise, the cover and all the art within are excellent and a massive improvement over the first edition. Well organized, with excellent artist renderings exactly where you want them in a handbook.As for the system, it's a favorite of mine so I'm biased, but as with almost every 40kRP rulebook since the original Dark Heresy, I would consider this an improvement. The influence system (borrowed from BC's infamy) is excellent, and provides some rules for recruiting serious firepower into your team. Overall, I like every change and have so far very much enjoyed playing/DMing.

The system is amazing, it's basically Only War, but tailored to Dark Heresy. It's simple and fun, one of my favorite tabletop games.That being said, the binding for the book is atrocious. Within days, the binding fell apart with extremely careful use. You only have to flip the pages for the binding to start falling apart. Apparently this is a widespread issue, with it happening to nearly all copies of the book. I'm not sure if newer printings have fixed the issue, but my book completely fell apart within days of receiving it. I'd give this product a 5 star review if it wasn't for that - the book is basically unusable for normal gaming.It's a shame because it's a fun game, but the book is total garbage. Shame on you FFG!

The new addition is awesome, the few changes in the mechanics of gameplay allow for more fluid creation though I miss the tracking tier for careers in the first edition. Its expansion on vehicle rules and mounts, nemesis and sector overview make it a great standalone addition. The art is incredible as always and the new style in page layout only compliments the overall structure.

It's a nice book, but not as 'magical' as I was hoping it'd be. The only story takes place in a zoo. Title would be better as A Day at the Zoo. Mainly just the unicorn dodging ordinary nets and such with the animal sounding off. I also thought the pictures would be filled with pinks, purples, rainbows, and the like. But they are very dull and bland.All in all, the book is very plain and not whimsical and cute like I thought it'd be. It's a good book just not what I thought it'd be.

This book was purchased for my preschool. With any book teachers are always looking for ones that will keep young beginning readers interested during story time. This book is brightly illustrated with a fast pace to try to capture a Unicorn. The length of the book is great especially for the price point. The font is big enough for early readers to easily point out beginning sight words or letters. The book can also be extended into a STEAM or STEM activity wit;h kids building their own "Unicorn traps". There is a somewhat hidden unicorn on all but two pages which I do wish it was on all to help further engage students in "I spy" the unicorn. On the last page there seems to me to be a typo in the very last sentence. I have reached out to Sourcebooks not sure if there will be reply. Overall great book.

I thought it was adorable! My daughter loves the bright illustrations and the story is is funny.

Love the way bridge is presented. Has great cartoon examples that make it easier to remember the million things you need to know to play a good game of bridge. Adds a little humor in the learning!

This book was somewhat helpful; however, there are others on the market that worked better for me.

I am taking bridge lessons based on this book. I have found it very helpful to own the book. It is easy to understand and presents material in a fun way.

The primary appeal of this book is its thinness. Bridge already has a daunting reputation, and thick books don't help. The goal of a beginners bridge book should show the student enough of the game to get them to the table. Some of the more esoteric cases and topics can be postponed.This book accomplishes these goals admirably. Nonetheless, I would have appreciated a second summary chart covering respones to a bid of 2 Club Stayman.Still, do not be deceived - this book requires multiple readings to ensure that it all sinks in.

It was written a long time ago, but it is still the best book out there for a beginner. The author is not only a wonderful bridge teacher, but a great cartoonist (Betty Boop & Popeye animations); the cartoon keep it light, but add some important and easy-to-remember insights.

As one of the other reviewers noted, there is a dearth of good introductory bridge books. This book is not bad, but it is very busy and focuses on memorizing rules -- not a good thing, despite the numerous cartoons designed to help you remember. The book is a bit childish and might be good for teaching a kid, I can't see an adult using this to learn with though.Most of the other books are at least slightly better. Root's ABC's of Bridge is more thorough and less busy, and Penick's Beginning Bridge Complete will get you playing much quicker. But even these books are heavy on memory work and light on teaching you to think. Furthermore, because all of these books are focusing on memorizing instead of thinking things through, they frequently "simplify" modern bidding to make it "easier" to learn. Doing this however, destroys the logic behind the bidding, making it almost impossible for a beginner to learn.INSTEAD OF THIS BOOK, you should get Alan Truscott's Bridge in 3 weeks, the absolute best book, and the *only* one I'd recommend. The writing is superb, which you would expect from the Bridge editor of the NY Times. The book focuses on teaching you to think at the table and will get you playing the game quickly. More over because this book focuses on logic instead of memorization, it actually teaches you to bid and play in the way that most actual players do, making it easier to advance beyond the book.

I've looked through many books on this subject and finally found one we can all enjoy and learn from. Most of the books are way too serious about the subject. This makes everything easily understood. You don't have to be experience with the game to be able to learn from this book. I highly recommend it.

TRIPLE EXCELLENT!!!

The pictures are interesting but I'm sure there are better. The text is boring, and uninformative. The book is poorly organized. And the title is misleading. The earliest dated pictures are from 1880 and the latest are 1940s. To many pages are taken up by striptease series.That aside. There are some hot and interesting shots and for the price it's no bargain, but not a rip-off either.

This is a must for those who are serious about the historical aspects of the genre. We both enjoyed the pictures, especially the sequential sets.
